Currently in this role since April, I am proud of the service I have given to my SHPE chapter. I preside over all of the chapter affairs for 300+ members and a 35-person leadership team. I lead the efforts to expand our officer team from 33 to 44 contributors with the introduction of the Technical Development Committee and the addition of other purposeful committee chairs. I spearheaded the creation of our chapter website to allow us to showcase all of what our chapter has to offer in an online presence, and I revamped our Corporate Solicitation Packet through structure reorganization and price adjustments. I also founded the RLDC planning committee of 14 members to help our chapter create a great plan of action to potentially host the regional SHPE conference in Austin, TX. These are a few acts of service I have achieved in my role to date, and I am excited for the rest of the year filled with events and initiatives to increase the feeling of familia (family) for all our members!
Corporate Director
Fall 2021
In this role, I led communication efforts with corporate contacts to help facilitate sponsorship with our chapter. I helped raise $12,000 in donations through partnerships in chapter events. I constructed a 350+ company contact database that will continue our chapter's success in future years.
Technical Chair

I led the outreach for technical events and seminars with companies. I successfully organized our first-ever technical workshop with Texas Instruments. This event involved the creation of household video game systems. for all 30+ attendees. This event along with others I led set the foundation for the creation of the Technical Development committee whose goal is improve the technical skills of all our members.

I managed a budget of $15,000 for our chapter of 150 members. I lead the fundraising committee of four members to help raise funds for more engaging events. This was my first role in college that taught me the ins and outs of a strong leadership team which translated to my increase in confidence and advocacy.

Society of First-Year Engineers Mentor
2021-2022
I served as a Mentor for 50+ freshman students in their academic, social and professional development. I organized over 10 events, including a three-week long activity focused on critical thinking skills and resiliency. The community established with this cohort of freshmen is unmatched as I was able to see the growth and increase of confidence of every single mentee at the end of the year. This experience helped me to be a more effective contributor to the development of large groups of people.
Engineering Activities MAL
2020-2021
As an EA MAL during a virtual year, this role introduced me to event planning and execution. I worked on the planning of three events that brought over 300 attendees. I improved my team-player ability as I successfully worked with three teams, each including different committee members, and worked with each's strengths to successful distribute and handle responsibilities. This role taught me the scale of contribution as all of my work in this committee was open to all the 4500+ engineering studnents.

I served as mentor for five students in their freshman year. I met with them individually for at least a hour a week to help guide them through the difficult process of adjusting from high school to college. I offered career advice, introduced them to successful academic strategies, and organized group socials. My ultimate goal for my mentees was to help them improve their self-advocacy and create lasting friendships with others.

Having been FIG Mentor for two years, I led weekly seminars for a total of 45+ mentees. I effectively planned the seminar topics, met with my facilitator on a weekly basis to discuss the progress of our FIG, and helped my mentees in any way I can. This included schedule planning, one-on-one peer mentoring, and group socials.

Frame Sublead

I lead the design of the frame chassis for our team of seven members. I worked with other subgroups to make sure design phase goals were agreed. I utilized SolidWorks to properly design the chassis prioritizing on driver's safety, egress, material durability, impact resistance, and manufacturability.

One of two frame group members forming the subgroup. I helped create the first iteration of the frame chassis. I learned how to use SolidWorks to an advanced level with the help of other leads and mentors, along with online instruction.
The Gates Scholarship Squad Leader

I had the blessing to have returned to The Gates Scholarship Summer Institute for the past three summers. Each time, I have mentored a group of 5 bright scholars. The mentoring starts before the start of the conference and excels during the four-day in-person/virtual conference. We have two daily check-ins and continuous conversations to help guide them and maximize their conference experience.
HSF National Leadership Conference Mentor
Summer 2021
I returned to the National Leadership Conference virtually as a mentor for a group of 5 extraordinary mentees. I shared my personal experience of attending NLC virtually the year before. I offered authentic advice throughout all the conference including before and after. I keep in touch with all of them on a monthly basis to assist in any way I can and to remind them that they have a support system in each other!
